THAT PERFECT FINISHING TOUCH

Jewelry Is Not Only An Accessory

She walked toward the bench with her head down looking at her phone. She gently sat down, eyes locked to her phone, unaware of anything else going on. Paying close attention to her phone, she stared at the voice mail button and with hesitation, she pushed the button to listen to the message. There was a quick harsh burst of wind that rushed through her hair while her neck was yanked back by some strong force. A hand caught in her hair pulled and jerked her head back. She was gasping for air when she felt the necklace being ripped off her neck. In shock with a delayed reaction she realized someone just stole her mothers necklace right off her neck.

                                                                     ROYAL MOTHER OF ALL JEWELRY

It was such a vigorous force and seemed to happen so fast, she was still in shock, she couldn’t speak. No words came from her mouth, tears started flowing down her check and she gently touched her neck. Her mothers pear shaped diamond necklace was abruptly pulled off her neck. She had just stepped out of the nursing home to get some fresh air while her mom took a nap. Her mom was dying from cancer and had just given her that necklace. It meant so much to her, knowing how hard her mom worked to buy herself a nice piece of jewelry. The voice mail she received on the phone was the doctor letting her know her mom had finally taken her last breath. Too many emotions for her to comprehend.

Jewelry A Part Of Your Identity

Often when we think of jewelry we think of it as an elegant accessory. However, it’s more than that perfect finishing touch to an outfit. Like it or not jewelry has always been part of a women’s social status. One piece of jewelry can tell everyone who you are and were you came from. Jewelry is part of one’s personality and their identity, Have you ever stopped to think that a single piece of jewelry can therapeutic to a person? It can be a reflection of a persons self worth. Most importantly, jewelry, although an investment, can be priceless to some when it comes to sentimental value.

Not Just An Accessory

As an accessory jewelry is that perfect finishing touch that compliments an outfit. It’s those tiny details, like a rhinestone brooch or a diamond tennis bracelet, that make a huge difference when it comes to completing the look you’re after. Often, it's an object used mainly for putting yourself and your outfit in the spotlight. Jewelry is worn as something to be adorn. It does not matter what your style is in fashion, jewelry comes in many forms and fashion, whatever genre you’re after. If it’s a casual look, a well-put-together daily outfit, or for a special event, it’s just an important part of getting dressed. Most women don’t feel complete unless they’re wearing some type of jewelry, no matter the cost. It’s not all about fashion though. A piece of jewelry sends a message to others and to oneself. Yes, jewelry is an accessory that’s aesthetically pleasing to the eye, and it can elevate any outfit, but it’s also about self expression.

The Effect Jewelry Has

The type of jewelry a person wears makes an impact, no matter how big or small, it has a powerful effect on what people think of you. Jewelry is and will always will be a status symbol to let everyone know you’re not like everyone else…you’re someone. From Egyptian Kings and Queens to royalty today jewelry has been displayed as a sign of wealth. Priceless heirlooms, no matter what culture, have been passed down to reveal to the world that a person wears jewelry as an exhibit of wealth, a person with power, a person of value. What about that eye catching oval shaped 12-carat blue sapphire ring with 14 diamonds worn by Princess Diana? A ring made from a nugget of Welsh gold, centuries old that has been said to be worth $200,000 is definitely a ring you wouldn’t see on just any woman’s finger. That’s a ring that you’d rank as elite. Wearing a one of a kind handcrafted tiara is not something that’s commonly seen when it comes to jewelry, however, it makes you think of someone that comes from a hierarchy, a person of royalty, a person superior to others.

The Stories Jewelry Could Tell!

The stories jewelry could tell! It’s history in a vault. When one thinks of their own personality or their identity, the last thing that typically is thought of is jewelry. It’s a big part of who we are. That necklace with your birthstone on it, lets people know your astrological sign. The string of pearls you received for your sixteenth birthday, let people know you’re a young lady, not a little girl anymore. That ring you see on a persons finger when you’re in line at the store can tell you who they are without saying a word. If it’s a  Claddagh ring someone is wearing tells everyone that person’s not only Irish, but also, depending on the way its worn, is letting it be known if they are married. Is that intricate heart on the ring facing inward or facing outward? Once your eye catches a woman wearing a cross or crucifix necklace your instinct automatically tells you that she’s probably a woman of faith. Jewelry goes beyond being just an accessory.

JEWELRY THERAPY

It’s amazing how jewelry can make a person feel. A feeling of dullness can turn into a shining light of life when it comes to jewelry. Have you ever looked to jewelry for therapy? A woman can be overweight and instantaneously feel like the most appealing person in the room as soon as she puts on that tennis bracelet. It can be that precious piece diamond or that goth choker that one puts on and it just speaks to a person. A piece of jewelry can have the power to make a person value themselves. Nobody can deny how attractive a necklace dangling against a woman’s neck can be pleasing to the eye, just the way it glisten against her skin color can give off a breathtaking radiance. If a woman doesn’t wear makeup and has that perfect pair of dangling earrings that bring out her cheekbones, it’s instant therapy to the soul that’s impossible to explain. Yes, jewelry can be like therapy that can help you value yourself, improve your mental state, and help you define your own self worth.

The Sentamental Value

It doesn’t have to be the most expensive piece of jewelry that puts you in the spotlight. Jewelry has sentimental value. To some it’s priceless and worn with significance. No matter if the price, high or low, it’s not just a form of expression, it’s relevant. That locket with ashes from part of your mothers remains you wear around your neck, it is part of you. Nobody can buy that for you. Even a friendship bracelet can mean the world to someone in need of acceptance. Don’t try to figure out why a person wears a pendant for spiritual guidance. Just looking down at that wedding band, that ring that has no beginning and no ending, representing too between two people has an impact.

The Impact Of Jewelry

It’s fair to say jewelry is a piece of your identity, it’s one of the things that defines you, and it’s irreplaceable to the person that receives it. There’s a story behind every piece of jewelry. Jewelry can go from a conversation starter to being therapeutic. If it’s a reflection of self worth, or it has an impact of someones self esteem, jewelry can speak without saying a word. You don’t want to loose it in order to realize how valuable it is to you
