Which Is Right For You?
Dale walked into his office disheveled with a crocked tie and uncombed hair. He was running late so he had to get dressed in his car and didn't have time to comb his hair. Everyone at the office turned to stare at him as he walked down the hall, he just looked down focused on the floor while hurrying to his office. A fellow employee stuck his head into his office, "Forgot about the most important meeting of the year? Big mistake." He was not only missing his deadlines, but he was starting to slack off on assignments and forgetting deadlines. He's team was starting to pick of his work load. He kept forgeting important meetings, and his messy desk was just another sign of his extreme exhibit of carelessness. He's lack or organization, his lack of knowledge for the right products, which would only help make his job easier, showed he didn't have a clue. So lets help Dale get it together. We'll start slow by showing him a couple choices of computers.Which is right for him?
MAC vs. WINDOWS
Both MacOS and Windows have the right to impresse everyone. We need strength and easy fast work flow. So lets compare a Mac and and Windows operating system. Lets remind ourselves of the importantance when it comes to the operating system, team collaborations, convenience, communication, and most importantly quality. Let's talk specifics. We can remind ourselves about Windows 11's operating system, that changed the world and will always be rememberered for it. What about it's alternative Apple? So let's talk about what's been done over the years with clarifications on improvements, because the debate between the two systems has continued for so many years, we're gonna talk pros and cons, then will let Dale decide what's right for work.
Operating System
What do Macs tend to lean more towards when it comes to precision and workflow? MacOS X operating system and Microsoft has Windows operating system and both run differently. Now, do you want all your devices to work together? Such as your mobile phone, other computers, gaming system, graphic designing software, and do you need them to for work? Do you have to have your phone in sync with your work computer? What type of phone do you have? iPhone or Android? That will make a difference on which computer will be easier for you to shop for. The operating systems are hard to compare because they work completely different. It's like comparing a dog to a cat.
Storage
Not all storage is the same. Apple devices come with a set amount of storage. The more storage your device has, the more content you can store on that device. You can always use your iCloud storage to optimize your storage, and you can always buy more storage. PC computers sometimes use a SSD, Solid State Drive for storage. Similar to a traditional hard drive but different. It stores data and retrieves data faster. It uses a small memory chip, a flash memory that retains data even when it isn't being powered. It's great for speed when it comes to gaming. It has a limited lifespan in distributing data across available memory cells.SSD's has limited recovery potential. There's also the sofware a PC uses, and a compputer's hardware. It's an operating system called BIOS, a bsic input output system that links the software and hardware. Bill Gates built the Windows Microsoft System. All computers need an operating system. Windows relies on different specific hardware on that specific computer, it's like building an infrastructure connecting apps, networks, web services, and storage.
iPhone and Apple MacOS Computer
First do you have an iPhone? If you decide on getting a Mac computer it's relatively easy to connect them both and collaberate with others. You can upload media to your phone and use your computer to load updates onto your phone. If you want to use a cable you simply use the charging cable for your iPhone to make the connection. This is easy if you want to facetime people from work outside of the office. If your iPhone has a USB port, you simply plug it in. Apple makes it very easy when you have all Apple products because they are all designed to work together. For work, Airdrop is a great asset. You can drop information, pictures, videos, from your phone to your computer or to others by allowing others to join and collaborate together with ease. You can read and respond to text off your phone or computer, they're delivered simultaniously. It's so easy to make calls from your iPhone or your computer. Mac also has advanced high powered graphics, the tools and apps for graphics is one thing Mac was notorious for from the beginning. For years Apple has topped Windows with mobile app capability. Apple controls the software on its devices making it not so easy to get a virus.
iPhone And PC Computer
If you have an iPhone and decide on getting a PC, keep in mind Apple makes iOS, the operating system made for Apple products. But you can still connect your iPhone to you PC through iTunes. Once you have iTunes installed on your computer you can use it to manage your files on your iPhone. So on your Windows PC taskbar go to 'Phone Link." Select 'iPhone' and complete setup with the QR code. When you come to preferences, cutomize the notifications.
Android And PC Computer
Now, if you own an Android phone and decide on getting a PC computer, you can send text messages, notifications, grab photos, and run apps.from your phone to your computer. You can take pictures on your phone and see them on a bigger screen. You can read text from computer or phone, letting you reply to texts from your computer. You can use mobile apps from your computer. A PC computer and Android phone are both cost efficient, however Windows doesn't make phones and Android phones don't make computers. This requires you to use another provider for your computer.
PC Has To Offer:
Visio, a diagramming and graphics app that lets you visualize complex information in forms of diagrams, graphs, and flowcharts. Developing project schedules, assigning tasks and resources, allows you to manage real-time input. SharePoint Integration shares files, distributes news, and streamline collaboration on projects. If your system is part of a company network it's the suite-wide features that are part of a company network. If you need to embed fonts in a document anyone else that opens that file will be displayed correctly on your work computer. There's a document inspector that scans your documents and removes hidden data and personal information. Your PC Excel offers built-in database connectivity support. Your PC windows offers PowerPoint and and PDFs can be saved on Outlook messages. You can have full access to Word formatting and autocorrect. You also have access to a side by side calendar. The linking and embedding on the Windows version of OneNote is stronger when it comes to embedding and linking files OneNote is stronger, and the Windows version embeds an Excel file, opening a full, editable version file in Excel.
MacOS Has To Offer:
There's no struggling when it comes to understanding it. Mac fits into it's own existing hardware. Apple designs hardware in with it's software. Apps you use on your iPhone, Mail, Messages, Calendar, Notes, Reminders immediately recognize Mac counterparts. Everything is synced from Safari, your photos, videos, tab groups, AirPlay, and AirDropsend your Mac Finder to creat backups and trasfer files. You can access folders, your microphone, webcam, and location data. You can sync your Mac and iPhone to the same Apple ID. This makes it super easy to log in on any Apple device you have. Like your AirPods, can follow you from device to device, you can use your Apple Watch to watch tv, make calls, unlock your Mac and wake it up. There's no need for antivirus software. The browser used by macOS is the best when it comes to power and efficiency. For the office Microsoft offers SharePoint and Mac offers Airdrop, which is great is your employees aren't far away from each other. For individual creativity Mac is the choice. If you have a small company and can collaborate with a group of people you can trust, Mac is a great way to go. If you don't know a lot about devices, computers, or you need things to be easy for you on all your devices, it's definitely a Mac you want.
What Works For Dale?
Macs and PCs are not the same. The iPhone and Android phones are completely different phone devices. Apple allows your devices weather they be your Mac computer, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, they all work together. The likelyhood of someone in your office has an iPhone or Mac computer is pretty good. Thus, it makes it easier to collaberate with each other through multipule devices. However, most of the popular apps for business aren't available at the Mac App Store, so that can be a problem if you need to create a spreadsheet for every employee. Each Apple ID has access to the App Store, so emplyees can download apps that can distract them from work. Every employeee has to keep the device updated to make sure new versions of apps are available. That's okay if you have a small office with few employees. But if Dales office needs a desk top computer for work that calls for spreadsheets, PowerPoint, online forms to conduct research, or if he has to create surveys and create forms, he may not want to get a Mac. A PC desktop offers more when your company wants consistent structure for the domain when it comes to users, groups, computers, and allowing an administer to control everything with a single domain. If he needs to creat surveys, or any code for forms, quizzes, or diagrams, he might want a PC desktop.
Will It Be A Mac Or PC?
Having the right computer for work or play is necessary when it comes to getting the job done, it makes a huge difference in life, whether you're using them for work, communication, and entertainment.Everything with Apple devices is connected automatically with zero action from the employ once your Apple devices is physically with the employee all the need to do is open the box. Makes it very simple for someone that's not familiar with computers or technology. The Apple platform guides you through the setup, tasks, apps, and all functions with ease. You are allowed to remotely make changes to your devices right away. The cost of Mac products are more of an investment, but the benefits you get outway the cost by far. Apples are reliable, year after year...tried and true. However, Microsoft Windows is the most widely known office operating system. So ultimately, Dale needs to talk to his boss first.
