You Are Always Being Watched

Need a confidence boost? Everyone does. When you take time to make a good first impression, especially for a special event, so don’t mess it up. As soon as a person looks at you, within seconds, they’ve already judged you and your personality. We all may want to say, “ I don’t judge others based on their looks.” Ha! If you’re at a formal event and someone walks into a room, head hunched down, wearing a wrinkled shirt with crocks on, what’s your first impression of them? They can be the wealthiest person in the world, yet you, along with everyone in the room, have already judged that person. Even if you get to know them later and discover they are remarkable, that first impression has already been engraved inside your brain.

For example if the media has falsely reported a major event on something and the next had to redact it, on page 10, in fine print, and you’re informed it’s all lies, that first information sticks with you. The damage is done. Likewise a person that’s already judged you by your wardrobe, demeanor, or lack of confidence, it’s already been decided from that moment on what kind of person you are. You didn’t even need to speak, Know you’re not only influencing others on how they perceive you, but also boosting your own confidence. Knowing you’ve presented yourself well can give you self assurance to navigate an event with grace and poise, making the experience more enjoyable for yourself and those around you.

Do you want access to a better life? You always want to welcome anything that’s going to improve your life. The first impression you create can open opportunities for you that you would never have thought of. If you’re networking, going to a party, or going on a job interview, this is an opportunity for you to sharpen your relationships. That first impression may open a door to a modeling career, you could be offered a position as a host for a television show, or asked to represent one of the most influential companies in the world. Anything can happen when you take time to present yourself well. You may never know who was the last person that judged you by your looks could be the next to offer you an opportunity to change your life for the better.

You give off a signal to others. A silent signal that you respect yourself, you’re approachable, confident and creating a positive atmosphere, encouraging others to take to engage with you. First impressions also set the tone, they are the opening act of a play, the intro to a song, they set the stage for what’s about to come. When you’re around positive energy, you feel more positive. The energy in a room, how people express themselves, the smiles and laughs, or maybe it’s the compliments all set the tone. It’s important to make a positive first impression, especially when it comes to attending a special occasion.

Everyone deserves to be respected. Your image projects, how you respect yourself and thus, how you will be respected by others. Being well groomed and present yourself with dignity, your demeanor changes and the opinions about change how others perceive you within seconds. Your voice is heard, you’re viewed as a polite, orderly, and competent person, even if you’re not.

A special occasion, formal, semi formal, or an important event, makes a lasting impact. These are the moments that will leave a lasting memory in peoples minds. It’s your looks, your manners, and how you carry yourself, will show people if you have class. Class doesn’t mean money. You can have little money and a lot of class. You don’t need to spend a lot of money and still make a great first impression. Whether it’s your style, demeanor, or your conversation skills, a positive first impression will get you to stand out and be remembered long after the events over.

So stop and think about how you want others to see you and how you want to be seen. A lasting first impression creates opportunities, respect, and allows others to want to hear your opinions. People might not like you after they get to know you, but you still got the door open to make others want to know you based on that first impression. Don’t wear a wrinkly shirt or dress to a special occasion. The second impression will not matter at that point, if you even get a second chance to make another impression. That being said, make a lasting impact packed by making a great first impression.
